Graston Technique treatment

Graston Technique®

Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization for lasting pain relief

What Is the Graston Technique®?

The Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function.

Using specially designed stainless steel instruments, Dr. Aflakian can detect and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. The instruments allow the clinician to get better mechanical advantage and to treat the affected area with the appropriate amount of pressure.

Originally developed by athletes, the Graston Technique® has become standard protocol in universities and is used by more than 42,000 clinicians worldwide — including physical and occupational therapists, hand therapists, chiropractors, and athletic trainers.
